What it is

A set-aside time, typically during the first day of onboarding, for the new hire to set up their new technology and ensure they can log into key accounts

Why it matters

The vast majority of new hires have experienced a tech issue on their first day. When the tech doesn’t work, it’s a lose-lose: The new hire feels helpless and can’t start contributing and the company wastes valuable onboarding time. It’s also a really bad first impression.
